George Storos

June 3, 1942 to September 20, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Storos on September 20, 2025. George was predeceased by his parents, Alex & Nellie and is survived by his sister, Lena Shewciw, brothers Bill (Darlene) and Emil (Diane), children Orilee (Brad) Dawson, Ashley (Sherie) Storos, Aaron Storos (Marilyn) and his grandchildren Mary Dawson (Boyd) and Erik Dawson. George was born in Wynyard on June 3, 1942, and grew up in the Kandahar area before moving to Saskatoon in 1968 where he continued his 45 year career with the Co-op. George was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of minor ball and hockey. He spent much of his time coaching, managing, and volunteering for several local teams and cherished his time with his friends in the softball and hockey communities. He was happiest at the ball diamonds and hockey rinks, and he attended as many games and tournaments as he was able to. As his health declined, he was fortunate to have great support from the amazing people at Villa Royale and his health care professionals. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Paul's Hospital for their compassionate care of George in his final weeks and supporting him in his final hours. A celebration of his life will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Sunday, October 5th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Friends of the Bowl Foundation at https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E348779QE&id=1 to help with the upkeep and operation of Joe Gallagher and Bob Van Impe ball fields.
